Facilities on the Portsmouth to Le Havre Route
Brittany Ferries generally use the Cotentin ship for the Portsmouth-Le Havre crossing.
The ship features a self-service restaurant, bar with TV lounge, onboard duty free shop and free Wi-Fi in all public areas. During winter sailings both Normandie and Barfleur are also operated on the route.
Cabins are compulsory on all overnight crossings, with the option to upgrade to a cabin with a window. All 2 berth cabins have bunk style beds and ensuite facilities. 4 berth cabins have twin or bunk style beds and come complete with air conditioning.
Cotentin has two specially adapted cabins that can accommodate a wheelchair or a passenger with significantly reduced mobility.

Daytime sailings from both Portsmouth and Le Havre take 5.5 – 6 hours. Overnight sailings from Portsmouth take 8 hours, compared to around 10.5 hours from Le Havre. Departure and arrival times can vary by up to 1 hour due to tidal conditions.
Most passengers should aim to check-in a mininum of 1 hour before departure. If you’re travelling with a pet you should check in 1.5 hours before depature at both Portsmouth and Le Havre.
